Five Little Pumpkins: Halloween Music and Creative

Preschool children’s handmade Halloween spider crafts featuring colorful beaded legs, googly eyes, and smiling faces at BabeeShark Preschool in Sacramento

At BabeeShark Home Daycare & Preschool, we make early learning fun by combining music, movement, creativity, and hands on activities. Seasonal celebrations like Halloween provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop new skills while enjoying memorable experiences with their friends.

During our Halloween activities, the children sang the familiar song “Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on the Gate” and created their own spooky spider crafts using colorful beads, pipe cleaners, and other materials. The children enjoyed bringing their creations to life while expressing their individual ideas and creativity.

Singing together helped children practice listening, language, rhythm, and memory. Creating the spiders gave them opportunities to strengthen fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, concentration, and problem solving as they threaded beads and assembled the different parts.

Combining music and art also encouraged imagination, communication, and group participation. The children practiced following along with the song, sharing materials, and enjoying a creative experience together.

At BabeeShark, we believe seasonal activities are valuable opportunities for children to learn through play. By bringing music, art, and hands on exploration together, we help children develop confidence, creativity, and important early learning skills while making happy memories.
