W Is for Witch: Halloween Letter Learning

Preschool Halloween witch crafts made by children during a letter W alphabet learning activity at BabeeShark Preschool in Sacramento.

At BabeeShark Home Daycare & Preschool, we make early literacy fun by connecting letters and sounds with creative activities and familiar themes.

During our Halloween activities, the preschool children explored the letter W by creating their own colorful witch crafts. They used construction paper, scissors, and other craft materials to design unique witches while practicing creativity, concentration, and fine motor skills.

We also explored words that begin with the letter W, including witch, wiggle, and wind. Connecting letter recognition and phonics with familiar words helps children build vocabulary and understand how letters and sounds work together.

As the children worked on their crafts, they practiced following directions, making creative choices, and developing hand coordination. The activity also encouraged conversation, imagination, and excitement about learning.

At BabeeShark, we believe children learn best when early academic skills are introduced through meaningful, hands on experiences. By combining alphabet learning with seasonal crafts, we help children build confidence, strengthen early literacy skills, and develop a positive foundation for kindergarten.
