Welcome Fall: Learning Through Autumn Activities

At BabeeShark Home Daycare & Preschool, we love using the changing seasons as opportunities for children to explore, create, and learn. Seasonal activities give children meaningful ways to connect what they are learning in the classroom with the world around them.

To celebrate the first day of fall, our preschool children explored the colors, sights, and changes that come with the new season. They created beautiful fall tree crafts using colorful leaves, giving each child an opportunity to make their own unique autumn scene.

We also talked about how trees and leaves change as the seasons change. Through songs about fall and colorful leaves, the children practiced listening, language, and participation while enjoying the excitement of the season.

Our fall theme also became part of our early math and literacy activities. The children practiced counting, identifying colors, talking about leaves and trees, and exploring seasonal vocabulary.

These activities brought together creativity, early academics, fine motor development, language, and observation skills in a fun and meaningful way.

At BabeeShark, we believe children learn best when they can connect classroom learning with experiences they can see, touch, create, and enjoy. Celebrating the seasons gives children another wonderful opportunity to explore their world while building a lifelong love for learning.
